Wednesday 29th October 2008

Good winds and uncrowded 3-4ft waves all day gave punters some perfect conditions to get amongst it. With waves at kongs, moneytrees and a few running further down the reef there was plenty for everyone fortunate enough to be here...

jamie

Tuesday 28th October 2008

The swell decreased slightly today but there was still some fun, uncrowded, 3-4ft waves breaking at kongs and through to moneytrees. With good winds and minimal crowds it's got to be one of the best places to be!

Jamie

Sunday 26th October 2008

Moneytrees was PUMPING this arvo! Perfect 5 to 6 foot running down the reef. Absolutely sheet glass and a few long tubes to add to the most beautiful sunset I've ever seen.

Jerad

Saturday 25th October 2008

It finally picked up this afternoon so we had absolutely sheet glass 4 to 5 foot waves running from kongs all the way though moneys. With maybe 20 crew spread across the reef. What more can you ask for?

Jerad

Friday 24th October 2008

Two foot and perfect conditions. Everything is lining up nice for this next swell coming in. Should be a really good money trees swell. Will let you all know how it is.

Jerad

Thursday 23rd October 2008

Waves a bit smaller today. Even a few longboards were pulled out of the shed. But still perfect shape and low crowds. Not to mention we are paradise. Hot chicks are running around everywhere. Some of us don't know what to do with ourselves.

Jerad

Wednesday 22nd October 2008

Still had fun 3 to 4 foot waves all day with no signs of it getting any smaller. Few fish being caught and beers going down to add to the fun surf. Until Besok.

Jerad

Tuesday 21st October 2008

G Land was pretty small today but still had 3 footers up at kongs. If there was waves anywhere today it was here. Other than that it was a good relaxing day in the jungle. Waiting for the swell that's on the way. Also, Guests Dillan and Cristine are now newly engaged today, Congratulations!

Jerad

Monday 20th October 2008

Waves got about as small as they get here in g land today. About 2 to 3 foot up at kongs then smaller the farther down the reef. A few guest still had a go and came back with smiles on their faces anyway. Others opted for the jungle tour down to the look out tower to see wild buffalo, deer, and angry monkeys that tried to attack us on the drive down there. All in all it made for another good day in the jungle.

Jerad

Sunday 19th October 2008

Wow! Cant believe we had another day of speed reef. Only small 2 to 3 foot but absolutely perfect! Perfect conditions all day with extremely minor crowds. Up the reef had a bit more pulse with solid 4 footers from Kongs down to money trees. Another day in paradise.

Jerad

Sat 18th October 2008

Swell dropped a bit more today but still solid 4 foot up at kongs. Wind was good all day making for very happy campers considering the lack of people in the line up. Uncroweded G Land usually has this effect on people. Untill tomorrow. Oh and mozzies are kickin in so bring your repelent.

Jerad

Friday 17th October 2008

What a day of surf! Swell dropped but the wind kicked in early to give us a day of 4 foot perfection from the top of the reef at kongs all the down to the launching pad with epic 2 to 3 foot pipes at speed reef!!! Other than a few minor jelly fish casualties, what a great day. Cant ask for much more than that!

Jerad

Thursday 16th October 2008

Swell Kicked in today with some more launching pad and speed reef. Solid 6 foot sets kept the frothers happy for most of the day. Plenty of barrel talk at the dinner table to last for years. There was even a few waves on the fang at low tide this arvo. Hopefully it sticks around for a few more days. Until tomorrow.

Jerad

Wednesday 15th October 2008

Perfect conditions were there to greet a few long time speed reef die hards with some 8ft pad sets reeling into the cobra. Surf legend Scardy figures it should be all time tomorrow.

Tim aka "the bul" Kalke

Monday 13th October 2008

Not a bad day to arrive. Uncrowded 3 to 4 foot all the way down the point. Wind was up early and the sun out all day. Hopefully the swell forecasts is right and tomorrow we get more swell. All the guests are happy campers either way when there is now crowds.

And reef models are pouring us ice cold bintang!!!

Jerad

Saturday 11 October 2008

Another great day of waves, a bit small around the 3 feet mark, but excellent shape and mellow crowds.Great wind all day. Not much to talk about after a lonely day surfing.

Wow, look is that a happy camper!

Matt

Friday 10 October 20008

4 feet super fun low crowds.

Wow,look is that a gecko!

Matt

Thursday 9 October 2008

Seemed like someone forgot to turn the wave machine off. Today was again 4 foot and pumping, with all sections keen to prove there salt. Offshores kicked in early which as always is a god send spreading the crowd throughout the day. They were a few sore heads after Bintang abuse, with all thinking the swell was on the way out but its still there so all you workers keep those prayers coming!

Wow,look is that a ranga wearing a komodo!

Matt

Wednesday 8 October 2008

Waves were pumping today, 4 to 5 feet money tree. With 40 guys out and 30 without bottom turn capability, it made for amazing forward rolls. You know when i was a kid, me all my mates would surf the shore dumpers and watch all the older guys ride the real waves only because we were not ready for that.Once we thought we were good enough we ventured out the back.On arrival we were burnt abused and ridiculed, but we were part of it and slowly you got accepted after proving one skills.I am sure its the same elsewhere.Talking to the older guys who have been coming here for 30 years,it was the same here. Times they are a changing, a little respect towards others goes along way.

Wow, look was that another wave be wasted!

Tuesday 7October 2008

Wow, we all woke to bucketing rain. The type that brings those lovely little flying assasins to life.Mozzie nets will be down tonight.Tha swell on the other hand was still there with some 4 to the ocassional 5 feet waves albeit the wind was a bit suss(OFFSHORE FOR HALF HOUR) then no wind at all.Crowded we are not with other 70 people leaving all camps today, so the vibe is super relaxed, with all loving the serenity.Just talked to Tyson Keogh who is in Bali and he mentioned the streets are flooded. So who knows what tomorrow will bring. Can all you working folks out there, please say a prayer for us holidaying types. Nothing major all we want is clear skys and offshore winds, thanks yall.

Wow,look is that a mozzie!

Matt

Monday 6 October 2008

Great start for the working week with waves in the 4 to 6 foot range.Tha diligent workers who clocked on early scored with a early offshore and minimal co workers. The second shift also scored with a pad session and the odd speed reef treat. Then came the hard working overtime crew, which their was a few being there last day.Once again they were greating with some cooking Moneytrees. At the end of their working week and not a dime in their pockets, they all could not be happier, all putting in their resumes for the next stint they can get out here for.Beers are flowing once again and you know what they say"Add a few beers and all stories become reality" Looking forward to the next shift.

Wow,look is a grown man crying cause he missed work!

Stay sane feel da pain,Matt

Sunday 5 October 2008

Holy dooly, game on! With 8 feet pad as the arena, all players were well and truly getting stimulated today. Some great waves were ridden wuth Kiwi J-rod getting some seck pids and the young Brazzo boys also scoring. Speed reef got the last laugh with a few guest needing to be cobbled back together.Nothing major just stiches. As they say if you play, you must pay! Or was that no money no honey? Ah,what ever!Beers are being downed, waves within todays stories have already grown 2 feet.Gotta love the jungle life!

Wow,look is that someone pulling back!

Matt

Saturday 4 October 2008

3 Feet boring and peaky just like a beach break at home.Brain stimulation ran a sad second best as one can tell by this report...Over

Matt

Wow, look is that a new guest!

Friday 3 October 2008

The day started off slower than a fully grown man who still persists on riding body boards. As the morning reached puberty a few little bumps appeared on the chest of the reef and the G-land men started to arise from their slumber. All surfers were stoked and pleasantly surprised with 3 feet peelers spread out all over the place like a mad woman's faeces. With promising signs for tomorrow we will sleep with anticapation. On a sad note the great grey bear goes back into hibernation, it was a pleasure to surf with you Mr McCabe! I am sure he will return, well rested and ready to feast on the jungle again.

Wow, look is that an armadillo!

Matt

Thursday 2 October 2008

Another small day on the wave front, but with perfect conditions it was enjoyed by all.Speed reef had some perfect 2 foot waves being enjoyed by a core group of G-land legends.Bummer george was on fire on his 9'6. Jim beam broke 2 leashes and nearly saw the bright light on his way to virgin heaven.Big Tim all so nailed some bewdys before the yellow floating kook magnet drifted into play sending all stalwarts into the jungle.Swell is not looking good for tomorrow but better for Saturday.Stay tuned!

Wow, look is that a beer drinking dingo! Shot Bru Matt

Wednesday 1 October 2008

Well the trekking had to wait,Bummer!

Today the hot doggers of the camps had there chance to strut there small wave prowess and there above the lip shinnanaggins. With perfect 2 to 3 feet waves breaking on all sections at there scheduled times. The froth levels were running high and the sticker count at a all time high. Swell was on the increase on dusk, tides are still good for the next few days, so stay tuned for more Jungle camp reports.

Wow, look its a Blue Kingfisher!

Matt

Tuesday 30th September 2008

Righto folks, just so you all know, i am not man a who would lie to you all.Today was 2 feet offshore and about as boring as watching people play aussie rules(QLD joke),but strangely enough some of the punters loved it.Looking great for jungle trekking or liquid abuse tomorrow as seeing next swell is 3 days away.Stay tuned for non surfing action.Wow! Look its a monkey!

Mattt

Monday 29th September 2008

As we awoke there was a strange feeling about camp, it seemed chaos could be soon upon us.The creepy strong feelings became stronger as lunch approached.Without the offshore and the detached and deranged doctor about to set sail, all hell could break loose. With 3 to 4 feet waves and no knowledgable folk around, except for the Kiwis the camps were in deep doo doo!

Prayer for us Matt and da boys

Sunday 28th September 2008

News reports just coming in from South East Java, a space ship has crashed deep into a remote jungle. This area is normally frequented by, competent , respectful surfers . Spaceship reportedly from the Planet Gumby , and was noted to have expelled it's contents over a pristine reef renowned for it's perfect barrells . ABC Australia and Zig Zag magazine ( South Africa ) Which have verified with local custodians that the ship was well and truly full of GUMBIES !!!!, but they also said that the waves were 5-6ft and perfect Moneytrees . So , keep your eyes toward the sky , because this spaceship could be coming to a surfspot near you . We have also noticed that the Magicseaweed web-report is being beamed down from the spaceship .

Saturday 27th September 2008

On the 32nd anniversary to the day that this place G-land was discovered she started to throw an orgy and everyone happily devoured her suculent tubes, which she presented on sunrise with a 15 knot offshore and 5-6ft waves . There was a frothy atmosphere in the water and some new funny characters , starting off with the Human Luge powering along the faces without letting go of either rail from take off to end . He was easily recognised with his full sun suit on . Anyone who knows Harry the Bondi rescue guy , will know all about this suit . Beware , one could be coming to a beach near you .Even The Italian Warrior who was attacking Tiger Tracks with venom , and a slight scent of garlic , discovered that the T.Track is not exactly all pussy , after she bit back and tore some flesh off the mighty Warrior bulbous calf . With an increase in swell on dark , stay tuned , because The Dreaded Speed Reef could be absolutely cooking on the morrow .

Friday 26th September 2008

Roll up , roll up !! the circus has come to town , but , the only problem being they brought the onshore and the rain for half the day . G-land being the big circus tent she is created a 3 ft crisp performing platform for the multi-talented surfing acrobats . It was a pleasure to see " The Man " ....Peter Mc Cabe , who was out there doing his thing amongst the circus clowns , still , with a smile on his dial which is inspirational seeing as he used to have it to himself and a core bunch of legends .Good onya Pete !! . Swell seemed to be on the increase on dark .......stay tuned for all the carnage and frivolaties .

Thursday 25th September 2008

Thursday rolled around with hazy heads which suited the very hazy conditions . When we all just about givin up on the previous nights ritual , the wind kicked in at high noon , and the shootout was on !!Gunslingers started appearing out of the bush with all guns blazing , with a steely look of determination in their eyes that would have made Clint Eastwood cringe !!( And Bummer George smile ) The afternoon provided 4-5ft peelers , reeling down the line , for any cowboy worth his weight in salt . Adios amigos and hang em high !

Dibell and Dr Phil

Wednesday 24 September 2008

Today was a acrobatic Kongs session where we were swinging from wave limb to wave limb . A few lucky monkeys scored the bananas , but most baboons ended up with sunburnt bottoms !!It was mostly around the 3ft mark , but , super -fun . There was a late nite sacrificial burning session , and bizzare wave beckoning ritual which involved forward rolls into sharp rocks . ( Thanks Kookie ) . Signing off and waiting for the ritual to pay off .

Dibell and Dr Phil .

Tuesday 23nd september 2008

Prayers have been answered , 5-6ft perfect offshore drainpipes which had all punters frothing out of thier minds .On hand to witness the days efforts was one of the Olympic selectors for the 6ft diving team . Albeit he was very impressed with their bravado , he could not see any future champs due to some serious lack of basic coordination skills .We wont go into their gluttinous " I need every wave attitude " , but , there were still plenty of waves and some very scary but strange wildlife activities . Monkeys stealing possesions , including Nathan Rose's Solar resin .Now we expect to see monkeys with fixed grins on their dials !Just on dusk we saw this cute little squirrel being chased by a rabid hyena . Reports from people in the budget accomodation " The Squirrel did not fare well " and the hyena got the last laugh .

Dibell and Dr Phil .

Monday 22st September 2008

Today we were greeted with 6-8ft waves, but denied the coveted trade winds and hence the conditions were not as superb as usual. Without the wind the waves were rather sectiony and this resulted in many broken boards and one very happy Jim Beam ( Board/Ding Technition ).

Everyone say a prayer for us poor folk out here surfing the 200m rolling lefts .....instead of the thundering barrels we are getting accustomed too !!

Amen .....Dibell and Dr Phil .

Sunday 21th September 2008

Twas a hazy morning with 3 foot waves, which built consistently throughout the day to solid 6ft Moneytrees sesstion later. This kept all campers own thier toes. Added to the mix was a heavy dose of pheromones flowing down from the plethora of surf-babes located all over the reef like sea urchins.

Dibell and Dr Phil

Saturday 20th September

Fun day on all sections of the reef. Swell size around the three foot mark.

A real good day for the female contingent, making a beautiful lineup even more memorable .With the pulse of swell arriving on the morrow, beers were drank in anticipation.

Frida1 9th September

Three to Four foot hotdogging sections up at Kongs being well and truly taken apart by Margs Legend Neil Wakkett. Also on hand was the editor of Zig Zag Magazine, Will Bendix putting a solid show in and not being outshone by his young team of professional rippers. It was a day of fun waves and even funnier names !!

Dibell

Thursday18 September 2008

A Grade two days !!

Monday, 15th September 2008

Come Monday it was an exciting day to get back to work, nice 6ft waves building into 8-10 ft monsters exploding into bulbous barrells through speedies.

These were enjoyed by many but painfully mistakinly ridden by some who payed the ultimate price which was only minor for the frills that one can receive.

Till another day! Claims coming from the surf to the bar!!

Dibble

Sunday, 14th September 2008

Today started off with Speed Reef providing some tunnels for the early risers and then as the tide dropped Money Trees started doing its thing with flawless 4ft pipes. Needless to say the 3 day trippers who are leaving tommorrow have smiles on their faces that could not be removed with a sledge hammer. Signing off from the land of hi fives and hand jives.

Thursday, 11 September 2008

Smaller again today, still fun waves up and Kongs and Money Trees, a good day to relax and chill out with plenty of good waves in sight.

Dibble

Wednesday, 10 September 2008

The swell dropped slightly today as expected, there was still good waves from Kongs all the way down Money Trees. Tiger Tracks also had fun waves for the crew who ventured down that park of the National Park.

Good buzz in camp at them moment, everyone is amped to be here!!

Dibble

Well Folks I made it !! watching and listening to my mates all year telling me how good the waves are over here... no its my turn!!!

4-6 ft Money Trees today!! epic waves all day!! some of the campers calling the best waves of their life. A few broken boards and a few dented ego's. The best thing about Money Trees at this size it breaks all day !!

More waves coming !!

Small waves today flat here, flat everywhere in Indo.

Mick

Saturday, 6 September 2008

Today was a great day for checking out the sites around Gland. Ronaldo and Bobo took most of our guest out into the national park where they explored the caves, the hindu temple and the viewing platform where they saw buffalos, peacocks, wild pigs, deers and the antelopes.

The rest of the guest surfed 1-2ft waves up at Kongs or relaxed around the camp. Looks like the swell will start up again in a couple of days.

Mick

Friday, 5 September 2008

Speedies was only 2ft but what the surf lacked in size it made up for in perfection. The waves were enjoyed by only a handful of surfers as most the guest were surfed out from the last few days of surf.

Mick

Thursday, 4 September 2008

Swell dropped a little smaller today, 2ft waves were being ridden up at kongs with the new guest enjoying uncrowded little waves. A great day to take a nature walk and check out some of the wild life here in the jungle.

Mick

Wednesday, 3 September 2008

2-3ft waves breaking out at Kongs with the small crowd enjoying long rides. Couple of surfers snuck down to Speedies on the high tide and scored uncrowded head high surf. Another perfect beach day, everyones worn out!

Mick

Tuesday, 2 September 2008

Perfect 4-5ft Speedies on the high tide and good Money Trees in the afternoon. Jerad got uncrowded barrels all on his own at Tiger Tracks. He is the new master of Tiger Tracks!!!

Beware of the new JUNGLE TIGER JERAD!!!

Mick

Monday, 1 September 2008

First day of September had produced pumping waves. Speedies and Money Trees were epic with super clean waves up to 6ft reeling down the reef. There was plently juice in the swell, one of our brazilan guest broke his board into 3 pieces. 20/20s had some nice head high waves in the afternoon with just a few people out. Good start to September!!!
