Monday, 30th June 2008

The swell slightly increased through out the day with 4-5ft sets at Kongs and Money Trees.Uncrowded conditions and all day trade winds making another fun day in the line up. The swell looked to be sticking around on dark, bringing some promise of some good surf tomorrow.

Today saw the arrival of some fresh faces into camp, one being our new camp Doctor and another our resident yoga guru Nick. He'll will be running classes twice daily to keep everyone loose and ready for action!

The swell dropped overnight but the waves were still in the 3-4 foot range breaking down the reef from Kongs down through to MoneyTrees offering plenty of fun surf for all. There were some rippable walls and the occasional barrel.

Meanwhile in the camp the usual amount of ping-pong, pool and relaxing went down, finishing out the day with cold bintang whilst enjoying another amazing G-land sunset.

G'day G-land go-ers,

First day back in the camp for me and was greeted by the friendly staff and a nice day of waves. There was still some swell today with Moneytrees producing very uncrowded 4-5 foot sets. Fun waves were reported down at 20-20's today as well so all guests managed to get their fill. Looks like the swell is set to increase over the weekend so stay tuned!

It was a solid 6 foot today, with strong offshores by midday. Money Trees was offering up some great waves from late morning and throughout the rest of the day. Some of the guys scored a few barrels at Speedies later on despite the tide running out. Looks good for the weekend with the swell continuing to build. With minimal crowd, a great day was had by all!

Wednesday, 25th June, 2008

The swell built today to a consistent 4-6 foot. Light offshores all day with fun, long, smackable walls at Kongs in the morning. By midday, with the higher tide, Money Trees was firing with some great barrels being scored by everyone.

On sunset, consistent perfect 6 foot sets were hitting Money Trees, so with it set to increase a bit tomorrow, everyone is frothing. It is really quiet in the line up at the moment, so lots of waves for everyone! I am surfed out !

Hey crew! Another great day at G-Land! Not many out early after a big beach party last night, with the Aussie lads knocking together a cracking bonfire.

2-4 ft today, with light offshores coming in early. Fun, long, rippable walls all through the tide at Kongs, with the occasional barrel as the tide dropped. A few good ones were also coming through at Money Trees. Really uncrowded at the moment so lots of waves for everyone. Looks like same again for tomorrow, with more swell on it's way for the end of the week!

Boots is gone but life goes on.....

See you out at G-Land!

Today there was a drop in swell with strong offshore winds and rain during the night. The punters enjoyed 3-4 foot Kongs and Money Trees with a few barrels for the boys to be had.

In the past few weeks we had alot of girls coming to the Joyo's Surf Camp.Enjoying the softer waves down at 20 - 20's and Tiger Trails where there has also been some good waves.

On dark some of the boys returned in happy from an uncrowded consistent surf at Money Trees. The swell still looks like it will hang for tomorrow.

The swell dropped a touch today but cleaned right up.There were some classic 6-8 foot barrels at Speedies as well as at Moneytrees- the whole reef was alive today offering perfect barrels to the punters.

Because of the perfect conditions at the whole reef, the crowd got spread out and everybody got their share of waves. The swell is set to increase tomorrow so we should be up for another day of perfect G-land.

Today the swell picked up again as predicted and it was a heavy 8ft Launching Pads/Speedies session!! The wind came in just in time to make the most of the high tide and the barrels opened up big time!! Money Tree's also held the swell and the boys who decided to surf up there also scored super long walls!

One of our Brazillian guests left a good chunk of skin on the reef and had to have a couple of stiches in his elbow but still came up smiling.

No end in site as the forecast looks red hot !!

Hi Zoe, Hayley and Clare from Trev!! I have g-land tattoos!!

A decrease in swell today, still solid 6ft Money Tree's in the morning... Perfect conditions today with the wind coming in like clock work. All the punters got some pipes today which makes for the happiest bunch of surfers around.

Low tide was still pumping up at Money Trees and The Ledge section... most crew happy to sip a Bintang and watch the sunset while a handfull of surfers enjoyed the low crowd.

Another bump in the swell due tomorrow so giddy up folks!!

The swell increased over night.Saw some solid 8ft waves at Launching Pads through to speedys.Glassy conditions early however the offshore trade wind came in a little late for the high tide, although there was some great surfing going down in the grunty conditions.

A few wct surfers where here Taj Burrow and Luke Stedman where frothing on their gland session.

The guests are looking forward another wholesome buffet dinner after a big days surfing and a few bintangs over another epic sunset.

The swell hit today with avengence!! 6 ft in the morning and by dark it was 10ft solid outside but mostly washing out on the low tide. While the tide was high in the morning there were some great money trees waves!

Plenty of action here today folks!! and its just the start of a good stint of swell and tides....

Monday, 16 June, 2008.

Fun waves today up at Kongs, long walls running for over 50 meters at a time. Not too much down the rest of the reef today but you know if its small here its FLAT everywhere else!! tomorrow should be another story........stay tuned.

Sunday, 15 June, 2008.

Still 5ft here this morning, the early birds were treated to some decent waves up at Kongs and Money Tree's. The swell is waning and did drop off through the day so most of the action this afternoon was up at Kongs with the odd 4ft set up there.

Looks like a couple of days of smallish waves, so we can all re gather ourselves to contemplate another looming swell on Tuesday!!

Saturday, 14 June, 2008.

A bump in the swell today! Solid 6ft all down the reef from Kongs to Speedies. There was not allot of tide to deal with the speedies section however the rest of the reef was surfable all day long. The best section was Money Tree's today and everyone got there Money's worth so to speak !!

Today there was a few nice waves early untill the tide went out.Through out the day the swell cleaned up to provide us with some great waves in the 4-6 foot range. From Money Trees down to the Fang into some shallow hollow suckers at speedys,With the odd bombs hitting lauching pads.Another fine day of waves here at gland.

Tomorrow is shaping up to be another sick day.

Just a quick word from the Guru....The Yoga classes have been going off for the past six weeks, running on through the season. A great way to warm up for the morning sesh or unwind after a day of bazz's....and what's more, they're free!

Thursday, 12 June, 2008.

Today saw a decent increase in swell size with waves in the 6-8 foot range. Initially it was a bit washy through Money Trees but later in the afternoon on the higher tide it cleaned up nicely through Money Trees. There were a few sets later in the day hitting Launching Pads but unfortunately there was not enough tide for Speedys to be working properly.

A few of the boys went for a session down to Tiger Tracks and were rewarded with some fun, clean 3 foot lefts and rights. Jim Beam stole the show.

Due to the overcast conditions and small amount of rain there has been a lot of wildlife seen in the camp in the last few days.

Today we had a slowly increasing swell reaching a nice 3-5ft by the afternoon with clean glassy overcast conditions

The boys enjoyed some nice long waves at Kongs and some nice glassy barrels at Money Trees .A few bigger gems realing down to Speedys as well.

There was a great session of yoga on early this morning run by our yoga guru, Max twisting us into some good flexible stretches. All of those taking part are feeling the benefits. He also runs classes in the afternoon as well.

There was a healthy crowd also watching the evening's State of Origin Rugby League match. The mighty maroons had a convincing victory which kept the New South Welshman in the camp pretty quiet over dinner while the lone Queenslander couldn't stop smiling. Bring on Game 3.

A good bump in the swell today, 4-5 feet in the morning with the whole reef lighting up! The low crowds and all day surf meant everyone got some good waves today.

Slightly smaller this afternoon however there was still the odd 4ft set rolling through Money Trees. Winds were light again today, with perfect conditions we all like to see.

Apparently the fish have been on the bite too, with reports of up to 25 trevally being caught by Dr Larry in one session behind kongs.

Friday, 6 June, 2008.

Surprisingly still some waves today! Kong and Money Trees were in the 3ft range with the odd sneaker bigger set this afternoon. Light winds today which made for super glassy conditions.

All five volcanoes were able to be seen this morning in the distance over Grajagan Village. This is usually a sign of lighter trade winds... but tomorrow who knows.. there is supposed to be a bump in the swell and amount of surfers on the point is LOW! get out here!!

Thursday, 5 June. 2008.

The swell hung in there today, sets from 3-4ft for most of the day. Mostly Kongs and Money Trees today on both low and high tides. Everyone surfed today.

Those who were in camp after lunch saw a small deer grazing on the camp's new grass and flowers right in front of the rooms.

The waves and wildlife never cease to amaze out here in Plenkung National Park "Alas Purwo".

Hey crew! another great day of waves today, the swell dropped a little today (around 5-6ft) but was even cleaner and more lined up. Everyone surfed on high tide at Money Trees with the odd set hitting down at Launching Pads.

This afternoon saw another pulse with solid sets breaking on the bomby and doubling up on the Ledge and Fang (sections of Money Trees). Lighter winds today which made for super glassy conditions.

Pumping Waves today! solid 6-8ft Money Trees, it was good all day from Dawn to Dusk. The low tide still managed to hold the swell and there was some really nice long barrells through Money Trees on Dusk. The crowd was pretty mellow and everyone is surfed out.

Looks like the swell is hanging in there for another great day tomorrow.

It was really small early today, mainly Kongs was being surfed. Late this afternoon saw an increase in the swell. There were a few sneaking through Money Trees at the 4ft mark, a good sign for tomorrow.

Tides are great and a new swell brewing... everyone is pretty excited for the next couple of days....

Still some 4ft sets early this morning with the early high tide. The swell decreased through the day but it was still 3ft up and Kongs and Money Trees. If the crew were not surfing they were watching the Rugby League on the Television amongst other activities.

Some of the crew went down to Tiger Tracks and had some solitude, plus 3ft perfect right-handers !!

New Swell coming soon and the crew are ready and waiting!!
