Oahu really does not need much of an introduction! If you are a surfer you already know of it famous waves and the stigma attached. Pipeline, Big Sunset and Waimea may be out of your league but if truth be known there are all sorts of other classic surf breaks for all levels of surfing ability. Jocko's, Backyards, Kammies, Lanie's and Haleiwa can all provide fun waves when there is a small the medium-sized swell running!

To have a successful surf trip anywhere without local knowledge, you run the risk of missing the day's best surf and Oahu is no exception. Our local surf guide will show you all the breaks and their characteristics and will soon have you surfing the best and least-crowded waves for your ability.

Our guides know most of these people personally and you will meet a bunch of different people while cruising around all the spots. For days out of the water Oahu has many options to keep you entertained, including The Polynesian Cultural center, Waimea Falls and Pearl Harbour, just to name a few of the many cultural and historic attractions to see. The nightlife in Waikiki has well earned its world-class reputation and you’ll come across an array of international party goers!

Come and check out the real Hawaii for yourself. Our team of guides will have you surfing all kinds of waves around the different shores and beaches plus you’ll also be rubbing shoulders with the world’s best surfers. Every surfer HAS to come to Hawaii at least once in thier life!

Surf lessons are included in all of the Oahu tours, based on one lesson per day for beginners. For intense one-on-one lessons twice-a-day there may be an extra cost. The guide will ensure you are in a suitable location for your surfing level. Our guides are very experienced coaches and will be able to give pointers to all levels of surfers.

Surfboards can be hired directly through our surfguide on the North Shore. These prices are not included in the cost of the tour. Costs are in U.S. Dollars.

Shark's Cove

Located directly in font of the ocean at Sharks Cove, this really is very tidy and well-maintained budget accommodation. Shark’s Cove is a very smart option as a base for your Global Surf Guides trip as the shops and beaches, including Waimea and Pipeline are within walking distance! The house consists of 4 different sections (each with 2 or 3 bedrooms) each with their own bathroom, kitchen and lounge. This is a very clean and comfortable place to stay with 2 full time maids making sure everything is spotless!

Sunset Suite

This Oahu's North Shore three bedroom holiday rental is cozy and cool in the summertime. It has a covered barbeque picnic area just outside the front door with a two burner gas range, soda machine, telephone, large picnic table, couch, and gas barbeque grill.

As you enter the unit, the bedrooms are on the right and have their own entry locks. The bedrooms each have bunk beds. Two have single beds and the bedroom in the middle has a double and single bed. Each room also has fan, nightstand and lamp. Towels and linens, blankets are provided.

The Back House

This 3 bedroom/1 bathroom holiday home is located in Oahu's North Shore across from beautiful and popular Sharks Cove, which is known for it's panoramic views, sunsets, and excellent diving and snorkeling in the summer and whale watching and professional surfing in the winter. Fully equipped kitchens and bathrooms. Outside hot water shower for rinsing from the beach. Walking distance to nearest grocery store and city bus transportation as well as breakfast/lunch wagon and small country shops. It has an entry porch which leads into dining area, kitchen and living room. Living room has two couches and chair and cable TV, glass dining table and chairs.

The kitchen includes a fridge, cooker, microwave, coffee maker, toaster and blender as well as cooking and eating utensils. Off the kitchen is a hallway that leads to the bath and 3 medium-sized bedrooms with a double/single bunkbed in each room. Each bedroom has a double bed and single bed in bunk bed style for added spaciousness in the rooms. Also each room has a fan and remote television. Towels, linens and blankets are provided.

Ocean View Deck Suite

This cozy unit is a favourite. You enter the large deck upstairs which has ocean and mountain views. Cable TV and VCR are provided in the bedrooms as well as living room area. It has a kitchen and a full bath. This two bedroom unit can accommodate up to 6 guests. The two bedrooms have double-single bunk beds; thus accommodating singles or couples. This unit works well for families with children.

Pacific Breeze

The Pacific Breeze is a three bedroom/two bath plantation Hawaiian-style home located in the North Shore of Oahu, Hawaii. The beautiful panoramic ocean-views are breathtaking from the porch, living and dining areas as well as the front bedroom.

As you enter the Pacific Breeze, there is a front porch which leads into a sitting area, the living room/dining and kitchen.

A. The closest waves on the North Shore would be an hours drive from the airport.

Q. How much $ will I need per day for meals? (average)
A. Between $25 -$50 USD.

Q. What is the best time of year for consistent waves?
A. The best time usually would be from November through to March.

Q. What is the best quiver to bring?
A.This all depends on what time of year you come, how well you surf and your ability in big waves. For the average surfer a 6'4", 6'10" and a 7'6".

Q. What is the water temp in winter?
A. The water temp is about 24 degrees C.

Q. What kind of wetsuit will I need in winter?
A. Boardshorts or a spring suit is the best to wear in winter.

Q. What is the water temp in summer?
A. 27 degrees C is the general temperature in summer.

Q. What kind of wetsuit will I need in summer?
A. Boardshorts should be all you need.

Q. How long does the guide spend with the guests each day?
A. The guide has an obligation to spend 8 hours per day with the guest/s, it is then up to the guide if they shall spend extra time beyond that.
