Rio de Janeiro is the most famous city
in Brazil, and quite possibly the most beautiful in
the world. The city and its backdrop are not the only
reason that Rio is famous, the waves here can go off!
Barra da Tijuca, Saquarema and Niterói are the
best-known spots in the area. Most of the waves in this
region are beach breaks, there are al lot of out of
the way places in the Rio area were you can score perfect
beach breaks with fewer crowds.

There are actually incredible waves in
and around the city beaches of Rio, some of these include,
Leblon, Ipanema and Barra Tijuca The best activity on
the beach without doubt is people watching. The beautiful
people come here in droves and flaunt themselves. There
are all kinds of beach activities to watch or get involved
in such as volleyball, soccer and swimming.


Leblon has a big wave rep. Rio’s
magical coastline and pristine beaches.
A surf trip to Rio is like no other, there
is many options for surfing that involve driving through
the maze of Rio's cities and highways. Once out of the
city you literally could be anywhere in Brazil, with
all kinds of beautiful beaches, islands and rainforests.
A trip to Saquarema is always on the cards.
It is only an hour and a half drive north from Rio and
it has some world-class beach breaks. It is famous for
its hollow and powerful beach breaks and its capacity
to hold a huge swell. The locals say it will handle
10ft plus and so requires some bigger boards. Saquerama
is not the kind of place that anyone can paddle out
and catch al lot of waves, but our guide has grown up
here and knows all the boys!

There are waves in Rio all year round
and the weather is also good all year. The most consistent
time for swell is from March to November, you can bring
your shortboards and boardshorts. Oh and don't forget
your beer cooler!

To say Rio De Janeiro is a good place
to party is the understatement of the century, it’s
a brilliant place to party! The nightlife here is amazing
and has something for everybody plus there is a huge
array of restaurants and cafes to tempt your taste buds.
The giant statue of Jesus, 'Corcovado'
can be seen from all over the city.
One of Rio’s most famous landmarks
is the giant statue of Jesus known as Christ the Redeemer
('Cristo Redentor'). This amazing statue can be seen
from nearly everywhere you go in Rio. Our guide can
take you through the city and up to what has to be the
best view in the world! Nothing can prepare you for
how beautiful the view is from the top of Corcovado
mountain.

Another great thing to do while in Rio
is to catch the cable car to the top of Sugar Loaf mountain.
The Sugar Loaf rises 396 metres (1,300 ft) above sea-level
at the end of Copacabana beach and at the top there
is a restaurant and bar with yet another another amazing
view of Rio.

the famous Copacabana Strip.
The shopping here in Rio is second to
none, there are all kinds of stores, malls and street
vendors that sell just about everything!

Surf lessons are included
in all of the Rio tours based on one lesson per day
for beginners. For intense one-on-one lessons twice-a-day
there may be an extra cost. The guide will ensure you
are in a suitable location for your surfing level. Our
guides are very experienced coaches and will be able
to give pointers to all levels of surfers.


Surfboards can be hired directly through
our surfguide in Rio. These prices are not included
in the cost of the tour. Costs are in U.S. dollars.
